Description
DevOps Engineer (Azure)
Location: Remote
Salary: Up to £90,000
Contract: Permanent
I'm working with a FTSE250 business who are looking for a DevOps Engineer who is as comfortable working with people as they are with technology. This role sits at the heart of our delivery function, acting as a bridge between application, development, and platform teams to enable reliable, repeatable, and secure software delivery.
You will take ownership of building and improving CI/CD pipelines, supporting containerised workloads, and driving Infrastructure as Code practices across Azure environments. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll regularly translate technical concepts, influence ways of working, and help teams adopt modern DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Act as a key point of collaboration between application teams, developers, and platform engineers, ensuring smooth handoffs and shared ownership
- Build and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices
- Support and evolve containerised workloads running on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
- Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
- Improve deployment reliability through automation, testing, and deployment strategies
- Work closely with development teams to enable secure, scalable application deployments
- Troubleshoot pipeline, infrastructure, and deployment issues across environments
- Promote DevOps culture, automation, and continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
- Proven experience working between application, development, and platform teams
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Solid knowledge of Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with AKS / Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience implementing GitOps using ArgoCD
- Good understanding of containerisation (Docker, image registries, deployment patterns)
- Ability to balance technical delivery with collaboration and enablement
- Experience with multi‑environment deployments (Dev / Test / Prod)
- Exposure to security and DevSecOps practices
- Monitoring and observability experience (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
- Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑400, AZ‑305)
- Work on modern cloud‑native platforms in Azure
- Influence how teams build, deploy, and operate software
- A collaborative environment that values communication as much as engineering
