What You Will Be Doing:
The Integration DevOps Engineer is a software developer position, responsible for managing integration software migrations between the multiple environments and platforms for improved efficiency and availability of the software development process, allowing system users to access data from a single system. He or she works closely with developers on source control methodology and code promotions, ensuring the effective integration of the software development life cycle. The position plays an essential role in creating the appropriate runtime environments and ensuring that the appropriate libraries, configurations, and new project software are in place for development, quality assurance (QA), and production environments. Job duties include the following:
- Analyze information within the development environment in order to determine, recommend and plan system modifications and new system installation requirements;
- Collaborate with other software developers, systems analysts and engineers on source control methodologies and codes to ensure effective integration of software and obtain information regarding project limitations and capabilities as well as performance requirements;
- Develop and implement appropriate runtime environments by utilizing scientific analysis and mathematical models to ensure appropriate libraries, configurations and new project software are in place for Development, Quality Assurance, and Production environments within the company;
- Develop and direct software system testing and programming including path permission changes within the development environment;
- Confer with data processing and project managers to document and diagram all changes within the environment which includes gathering evidence, creating packages and intake forms for consistency and developing efficient processes for permissions, promotions and demotions (to new target environments), and rollbacks;
- Modify existing software in regards to code changes to ensure all changes are packaged correctly and contain descriptive instructions to be moved to new environments, allow for interface upgrades and improve performance;
- Monitor the functioning of equipment and server logs in order to report issues to developers in production and quality assurance as well as to ensure systems are operating in conformance with specifications;
- Obtain and evaluate security information from software and determine required changes to environment and scheduling;
- Ensure that code changes are packaged correctly and contain descriptive instructions to be promoted/demoted to a new target environment;
- Document and diagram all changes in the environments;
- Proactively watch for issues in the server logs, and report to developers when issues arise for both Production and QA;
- Propose new environments for special purpose validation of projects at scale.
Requires bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications or related field, and relevant professional experience. Salary is $147,680.
